SPECIFICATIONS
DOME'L ALUMINUM HINGED GLASS DOOR *

GENERAL

    The general conditions, Supplementary General Conditions, special Requirements and Division 1 are a part of this section.

    MATERIALS
    Door, door frame and glazing moldings shall be extruded of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy and tempered (ASTM B221 alloy G.S. 10A-T5) glazing gaskets for doors and frames - Neoprene gasketing. All screws and miscellaneous fasteners shall be aluminum, stainless steel or zinc plated steel in accordance with ASTM A 164.

    FINISH
    All exposed surfaces of aluminum door and framing members shall be free of scratches and other serious surface blemishes. Aluminum shall be given a caustic etch followed by an anodic oxide treatment to obtain......
    (specify one of the following):

      a. Architectural class 1 anodic coating with color conforming to aluminum association standard AA-M 12 C22 A42/44 color shall be as specified (clear and bronze standard).
      b. Polycron (standard color) - This coating will meet or exceed the physical test requirements of AAMA specifications 603 or 605 which covers pigmented organic coatings on aluminum extrusions (white and bronze standard).

    HARDWARE
    Hardware for the aluminum doors and door frames shall be furnished by the door manufacturer. Where practical, all hardware fittings shall be installed at the factory before shipping.
    Hardware shall be as follows:

      a. Double cylinder with two keys - standard
      b. Two thinline 1/2" x 4" lever handles - standard
      c. Multi-point lock complete with latch lock and dead bolt - standard
      d. Hinges - 1 pair offset pivots - standard
      e. Closers (optional)
         Door can be fitted with:
         1. Surface closure
         2. Concealed overhead closure
      f. Optional upgraded handles

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

    All door and door frame materials shall be a minimum of .125" wall thickness and all door stiles and rails shall be tubular with double thermal barrier.

PERFORMANCE

    Testing performed per ASTM standards. Test results shall be furnished upon request.

FABRICATION

    The Dome'l "Thermally Broken" doors shall be manufactured by Dome'l, Inc., Three Grunwald St., Clifton, NJ 07013.

    Door and door frames shall be fabricated by Dome'l, Inc. including the application of, or the preparation for all operating hardware.
    Door stiles and rails shall be 2-15/16" x 1-3/4" deep and shall have a minimum wall thickness of .125" with tubular sections and be thermally broken.
    The Dome'l tubular frames shall be 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" in depth with a minimum wall thickness of .125" solid sections and be thermally broken.
    Door corners are secured with 6060-T6 Alloy specially extruded corner keys, crimped & epoxy welded.

WEATHERSTRIPPING

    The door stiles and frames shall be designed with a step frame in order to accept double weather-stripping on all four sides using gaskets to provide maximum resistance to air, water and dust.

GLAZING

    Door shall be glazed with a minimum 3/16" tempered glass, 5/8" air space, 3/16" tempered glass - 1" overall, and shall be glazed with glazing gaskets for a complete weather seal.
